15 Best Sims 4 70s Era Fashion CC & Mods

Best Sims 4 70s Era Fashion CC & Mods

Here’s a cool thing! I love history. And when it comes to the 70s, there was a lot happening — all fairly distinct from one another, though still very much in keeping with the decade. In fact, every decade has its defining moments, right? I mean, what’s your personal favorite? If you know me at all then you probably guessed ‘90s.

‘Invasion’ is so iconic that it has become a staple of the CC community, and the era’s fashion and pop culture is still a big hit. In fact, you’ll still find many CC makers today bringing the 1970s to life with their clothing. I know, I know — you’re probably thinking to yourself ‘this doesn’t get any better than this!’ It does!

2/15. Sims 4 Jumpsuit Summer Collection

Sims 4 Jumpsuit Summer Collection

Clothing brand CC is going all-out just to prove a point: women wear jumpsuits too. Jumpsuits and skintight outfits in general are so far from what women are usually considered comfortable wearing in public. That’s why, when a woman wears a jumpsuit, she stands out and makes her own statement.

Saurus, an upcoming brand I’ve never heard of that specializes in jumpsuits, has really outdone itself with this newest collection. While others try to put you in a Proustian nightmare of floral or animal patterns and colors, Saurus offers these bright and cheerful creations that seem tailor-made for the summer months.

Sims 4 Men Curly Mop Hair

It was a great time to be alive. Seemingly every decade is, but this one was particularly special. Hair grew out of control in the 1970s and nobody batted an eye — it was all about freedom, and you let it flow. The wilder the better, if we’re being honest.

4/15. Sims 4 Disco Animated Ball

Sims 4 Disco Animated Ball

The disco ball has been around since Aristophanes brought it on stage in the year 230 BC, but it really became more than a mere prop when the disco era came along. Now you can bring some of that old-school spirit into your game with this disco ball CC!

You’ve been living under a disco ball for far too long. It’s time to get your groove on — Literally. C’mon, don’t be shy — Eve28 is making the world a better place, one disco light at a time. Greenllamas has created this hairstyle that fans of the 1970s will be sure to love. Paired with a simple side-part, this ‘do will keep you looking professional and stylish without drawing too much attention to itself. It’s the perfect hairstyle for those who want to rock their hairstyle in more professional settings, such as offices or boardrooms, but still want to show their love for the 70’s.

I’m sure everyone’s parents looked a lot more stylish back then, whether they went with the Farrah flip or long and silky. Well now your Sims get to be just as effortlessly beautiful. And slightly wavy.

6/15. Sims 4 Recolors Swimsuit

Sims 4 Recolors Swimsuit

I’m sure you’ve noticed that in The Sims 4, the swimsuits available in-game are a little out of touch with reality. It’s set in modern times, sure, so it makes some sense for the latest trends in fashion. However, if you’re doing a ‘decades’ save (or if you just want to add a retro feel) then you’ll want swimwear that fits the bill.

Swimsuit season is here! But you don’t have to buy a new swimsuit to wear on the beach. Check out these awesome recolours from simminginchi, now available for your favourite swimwear at Maxis Match! Yo’ mama will love them, and so will everyone else. Looking good, girl!

7/15. Sims 4 Tees Vintage

Sims 4 Tees Vintage

The ’60s were a time of great social change. With the world changing so fast around them, people began to dress more informally and with much more variety than before. The official end of the ‘60s has been said to be when Jimi Hendrix played the Woodstock concert in 1969, and this is also when flower power became immensely popular. Long hair and counterculture clothing took on a whole new meaning.

I was saddened to hear that the Doors photo didn’t show up. I hope they get it sorted out soon, because as any ‘70s music buff knows, this shirt was part of a famous ad campaign for the band. Who can forget those infamous shots? The distressed blue jeans, the long hair and beards, the Doors shirt tied loosely at the bottom… this piece is a true classic. And you can get in on it too!

Sims 4 Train Soul Poses

You’re probably thinking “what do Soul Train and The Sims have in common?” … and the answer would be absolutely nothing, except for the fact that we’ve just released 70’s inspired poses for you to use in your game.

Your favourite television program is back! It’s the dance show that almost every American tunes into each week: your favourite Soul Train! The show that’s been popular since 1971 is now available as a game for your computer, mixing the high-quality dance moves of its live performers with the same fashion and music trends that you see on your TV screen. This game is the perfect balance of funky, fun, and fashionable.

9/15. Sims 4 Flip Farrah Hair

Sims 4 Flip Farrah Hair

Back in the ’70s, if you were a woman, chances are there’s a picture somewhere of you with this exact hairstyle. It was one of the biggest hairdos back then and you’d be forgiven for thinking it was just some silly ’70s thing. But it wasn’t.

In the case of your Sims, however, perfection is a myth. The Farrah Flip hairstyle is just as wavy and luscious as it’s always been in The Sims 4, but you still can’t change the colour of the hair. And that’s why this mod by ice-creamforbreakfast is so important for anyone who wants to alter the colour of their character’s hair.

10/15. Sims 4 Disco Sims 1 Jacket

Sims 4 Disco Sims 1 Jacket

As far as pointy lapels go, this one’s a real heavyweight. It was first brought to the franchise way back in The Sims 1, and it’s now available in The Sims 4. You can even match it with a pair of shiny colorful tights. But if you’re desperate for disco paraphernalia that covers your Sim’s torso, look elsewhere — because these only cover the shoulders!

11/15. Sims 4 Copacetic Sideburns

Sims 4 Copacetic Sideburns

There’s a common phrase that people use to describe the ’70s, but it’s not what you think. In fact, most people find it odd. When describing past eras, people often refer to decades as being “the [insert decade here] years.” You might do this to draw attention to your cultural frame of reference and make yourself look smarter than you are.

Your Sim looks really good — I mean, super duper good. Like a commercial. Like a… Calvin Klein ad. And I mean that in the best possible way, because you look better than any Sim I’ve ever seen before in The Sims franchise. But your Sim doesn’t have to have a brand new hair style while sporting a 70’s-esque bit of facial hair.

12/15. Sims 4 Megan Tied Jeans & Top

Sims 4 Megan Tied Jeans & Top

Flare-legged jeans are finally on trend. This CC offers a great denim texture, with little worn spots and tears throughout. We love the tattered part at the bottom, too — we wouldn’t have gone for this design unless it was just right. Here at BobaClub, we’re all about accuracy.

Flare jeans are back popular, and I’m with everyone who thinks they look great on anyone. But those of us of a taller persuasion may be a little concerned about whether these bottoms will be comfortable to wear for long periods of time. And yes, being slightly shorter myself, I do tend to wear fabric at my knee or above. After all, one breaks the rules when one is short.

13/15. Sims 4 Everywhere Skate Mod

Sims 4 Everywhere Skate Mod

Roller-skating is back in a big way, especially with the disco scene becoming more and more mainstream. It’s a super popular pastime and even a working mode of transportation, especially for those who can’t afford a car! LittleMsSam is bringing back fashion from the 1970s — again. He/She (I don’t want to perpetuate stereotypes) has created an add-on that allows your Sims to basically skate everywhere.

14/15. Sims 4 Isabis Boots

Sims 4 Isabis Boots

If you’re planning on dabbling in disco dancing or want to just look like a complete and utter diva, I highly recommend these ridiculously high-heeled MJ95 boots. The heels are so high that they make you feel like a hobbit when you try to walk down the street, but they’ll make all the other disco queens jealous with their towering, contoured glory.

15/15. Sims 4 Hippie Jeans

Sims 4 Hippie Jeans

Hippies didn’t fly away after Woodstock and leave us to our mundane, materialistic lives. They simply changed their wardrobe. If you look closely at the styles of clothing worn during the 70s and 80s, it’s clear that the hippies stuck around and affected fashion until the very end. For example, denim remained a key staple throughout the decade. And patches were added to denim and other fabrics as a way to make jeans unique and cool.
