Daycares offer an irreplaceable service to society. When kids are young, they need both care and education from a trained professional. Parents have the option of sending their kids to daycare, or to a babysitter — but either way, the kids will be getting some sort of care while their parents are at work. But there’s another side to the story, too.
The Sims is an incredibly fulfilling game series — it’s much more fun than Motherhood! That’s because it lets you be the sculptor of a society through its inhabitants, which are far less traumatised by the nasty things you can do to them. Things that would probably traumatise real mothers and children. Like letting their needs go into the red. Just for fun — there are no consequences for this in The Sims.
You’re a parent, or you know someone that is — so we know that you care about your little bundles of joy. Sometimes it seems like a mountain to climb just to keep up with the day-to-day routine, let alone plan out fun things to do. But with this list of creative and fun Sims 3 mods, you can make life easier (and more realistic!) for yourself.
1/10. Sims 4 Van Conversion TS3 Daycare
Kids in The Sims 4 actually have their own animations now! There was a time when they used to drift away and stare blankly into the middle distance, but now they actually run around and play with toys! They aren’t little drifters – they’re real toddlers! You can even make them all learn at the same time!
The Daycare career in The Sims 4 was… different. I suppose it’s a growing-up game as much as it is an aging game, since for most of your Sim’s adult life, they’ll be busy with daycare responsibilities. Imagine spending your work day trying to feed a toddler from a high chair — every interaction like that.
Previously, it was a special reward object you received in the career track, but now in The Sims 4 you simply use this van as a decoration outside of your Sim’s home or daycare. It’s well made and looks really cute outside your Sim’s house. The van is charming in an old-fashioned way, with cheerful details from kids to clouds that look like smiley faces.
2/10. Sims 4 Nursery Owl Set
The Owl daycare is a great place to send your child, but the furniture is pretty bland. To really bring out the “wholesome” feeling of your day care, you could make your own owl themed furniture. It’s really easy and can be painted in any color you choose. Here are some ideas on how to make your own.
A small dresser and an equally small mattress are available for a sort-of changing area, and the owl crib is adorable as well. You can even get the “baby without crib” mod (linked above) and turn it into a functional desk — your little one will love it! This new desk and chair set is great for slightly older children who can sit and draw for some time.
3/10. Sims 4 Stuff of Pre-school
Daycares are where the magic happens, and we want to help your Sims have the right furniture for it. Sure, you can make do with what we already have. But wouldn’t you rather use items that are built specifically for daycares? This is a special pack of stuff that will be just for daycares, including new tables, chairs, decorations and more!
They’ve got the same furniture and toys everywhere…that’s boring. Change it up a bit! While you’re at it, fix your spelling mistakes, too. God, this is terrible. This fanmade ‘stuff pack’ adds even more vivid colours and patterns to your game!
There are a lot of new toys, clothes and activities in this pack and it’s perfect for classrooms whether they be in a preschool or nursery setting. Sometimes I fool around with my toddler so she can learn how to do fun things like climb stairs. But mostly I just love the thought that kids get to play with these new items!
Looking for the perfect birthday gift for your toddler? Your search is over: come to our store and let us show you around! We’ve got a wide variety of learning toys, toy cars, board games, beautiful dollhouses, wooden blocks, and puzzles that your little ones will be sure to enjoy. You’ll never have to worry about them being bored ever again!
4/10. Sims 4 Posters School
Daycare is different from school, but there’s a lot of overlap — as you’ll see in this list of 18 posters to brighten up the walls of your playroom. Learn basic rules, boundaries and life lessons with these educational posters. Paint them yourself or get a professional to do it for you. The choice is yours!
The posters come in Simlish, so you can use them for whatever you want. Do they remind your housemates to be kind to each other in the kitchen? Do they help the neighborhood kids stay safe around cars? Colourful and cheerful, these posters will brighten up any room. Plus, there are a few that aren’t traditional posters—you’ll have to see for yourself to find out what I mean!
5/10. Sims 4 Shack Pixxel Daycare Center
You never know when needing a quick solution for childcare will arise. I’m fortunate that there are some super-awesome Sims 4 users out there who already put in the effort and are willing to share their builds. We’ve highlighted this one because it’s fun, cute and functional — but if you want to check out others, just Google “Sims 4 daycare”. All you’ll have to do is add your own personal touches!
The exterior is quite realistic with brickwork, and the creator kept the lot prim and neat. There’s a great little playground area for kids to burn off energy, and to let their imaginations run wild — something overlooked in modern day childcare centres!
6/10. Sims 4 Set of Playroom Colors
When kids grow up, they leave the playroom behind. This is a natural part of development — but it doesn’t have to be a painful one. The goal with your playroom is to make sure that the kids you care for have fun and learn new things until the day they leave. Here’s everything you need to know to find the best possible playroom — you can do this.
You’ll love the new, child-friendly furniture that’s out now. There’s a rocking chair, a desk with a stool — you’ve even got the option to purchase a swatch for DIY paint jobs. Add to that several new toys, from books and blocks to a rocking horse, and you’ll never be bored while your children play at this playground.
7/10. Sims 4 Mod of Career Interactive Daycare
If you’re looking for a daycare experience, check out the conversion from ItsKatato . She’s given toddlers their own rabbit hole career and included the option of making a daycare at home. This means that your Sim will be able to host events where they can play with a group of up to 5 toddlers. So if you’re into that type of thing, check it out!
Goal List gives you the power to accomplish new challenges and unlock achievements for big rewards, just like an everyday daycare. Its goal list is packed with fun tasks and challenging goals that you can tackle by yourself or with friends. Complete them to get your hands on all sorts of items, from furniture to rare artifacts! And don’t forget the gold stars, either — they’ll help you unlock the best items in this game.
8/10. Sims 4 Active Tots Co Tumbling Daycare Career
Why you should totally become a daycare professional! Obviously, right? It’s the perfect job for those Simmers who love being around children. This mod requires Get to Work to be installed in order to function, and it also has a few more requirements than other mods of its kind. For instance, you need one of these new venues to place on your lot before you can use this mod.
ItsKatato is the only tool you need when it comes to building a Daycare for your Sims — and you can thank me later. No more fumbling around with ways to make Daycares fit into your existing game: ItsKatato will give you everything you need.
Your toddler will be running around a colorful room full of toys, and perhaps even someone else’s toddler! You’ll have to make sure your child plays nicely with others, or is not too much of an attention hog. Back in the main house, you’ll find yourself at a whole new level of parenthood. Create a super-efficient Sim household, and work your way up through the Daycare career.
9/10. Sims 4 Toddler Playpens
The Sims 3’s playpens were a godsend for the Daycare career, and now they can be again. It’s a much more ethical way of containing the toddlers than leaving them to roam around and damage things. Which I definitely did recommend – it’s just that I lost track of time, and before I knew it… Anyway, you get the idea.
The playpen is a new object that releases toddlers. To place it down, throw it at the ground. To pick it up, use your mouse to click on it and drag it into your inventory. Three different designs are available for purchase. A sticker must be applied to each design before you can use them.
10/10. Sims 4 Stuff of Daycare Freezer Bunny
With this expansion pack, you don’t have to be embarrassed to send your children to daycare. Those moms and dads can’t complain anymore, given that their kids get to do arts and crafts with The Freezer Bunny (a delightful ice sculpture that’s actually the game’s most powerful god).
Simsdoughnut’s Freezer Bunny pack brings a fantastic lighthearted touch to any space in need of some cozy animal decor. Filled with all kinds of little accessories and small objects, it’s easy to personalize this bundle to your liking.
